To ensure Quality health to the economically challenged at affordable cost, we run a medical centre. This centre was started in the year 1989 in collaboration with Sri Sankara Medical trust. Later in the year 2009 this centre was completely undertaken by SYMA. A portion of the Building was constructed free of cost by Sri Badrinath (Sri Vasavi Constructions).

Public can visit the doctor by paying just Rs.2/- and get medications at free of cost.

Along with the medical centre we also have a laboratory. It is functioning from morning 7 am to evening 4 pm. Many poor people are availing medical facility at free of cost. Many Free Health Camps are conducted regularly. We have appointed a doctor at our centre.

Cataract detection cum operation and Eye Check Up Camp was conducted on Independence Day at Triplicane Fund Kalyana Mandapam in association with Sri Sankara Eye Hospital Pammal, Lions Club of Chennai Venus, & Triplicane Benefit Fund Limited. The Chief Guest was ________________________ Mr. J Babu., CEO of Sankara Eye Hospital detailed about that could ail vision and explained the various activities of his Hospital that reach the rural poor. More than __________ persons were screened and ___________ persons were deducted with cataract which requires surgery and they had been taken Sri Sankara Eye Hospital, Pummal and the surgery was conducted successfully on next day. ____________ persons were prescribed spectacles which were distributed at our medical centre in memory of our beloved member Late Mr. K E Raghavan

12th and 15 th Aug 2015-Dental Camp for the students of the Hindu Senior Secondary School, Triplicane was conducted by Tamilnadu Dental College. Close to 2000 students were screened.

SYMA conducted a medical Camp exclusively for women. 82 persons participated of which 58 were below the age of 18 comprising mainly of SYMA Growth students. Dr Milly Mathews, Senior Consultant, Nephrology, Dr Deepika Gandhi, Senior Consultant, Paediatrics, Dr Sandhya Vasan, Constultant, Obst. & Gyn. –from SRM Institute of Medical Science provided consultation. Initially, the Doctors answered the questions of the participants clarifying various doubts on general health and later there was individual consultation.

SYMA in association with Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal conducted ‘eye check-up’ camp at Raghavendra Primary School, Triplicane. A total of 211 students were screened. Two girl child were referred to hospital for further diagnosis, 9 students were prescribed spectacles.

Cataract detection cum operation and Eye Check Up Camp was conducted in association with Sri Sankara Eye Hospital Pummal, Lions Club of Chennai Venus, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Medical Trust & Sri Seervi samaj. The Chief Guest was Mr. M Murali, Sri Krishna Sweets. More than 250 persons were screened and 34 persons were detected with cataract and the surgery was conducted successfully on next day. SYMA in association with Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Medical Trust, Ashirwad Development Foundation and SRM Institute for Medical Science (SIMS) conducted a mega camp at SHG Terapanth Bhavan concentrating on general health, diabetes check, blood pressure, bone strength and heart. There were specialists Doctors, especially for Heart care and special consultation for women. A total of 166 patients were screened.

SYMA in association with Sakthi Multi speciality organized a medical camp at Bharathiyar illam. Patients were checked for diabetes by taking blood sample and ECG was also done. 49 male patients and 42 women were screened in the camp. Medicines were given free. We thank the Doctors, Management and staff of Sakthi Multi Speciality, Triplicane for the camp.

Dental Camp was organized in association with Rotary Club of Madras South, Down Town, Arch City Madras and Sri Ramachandra Dental College. Around 100 people benefitted from this camp.

we organized Eye check up and oral hygiene check-up camp for our SYMA Growth students at NKT Boys High School. Around 100 students were screened and 5 were given spectacles. We thank Sankara Eye Hospital.

SYMA in association with Sankara Eye hospital, Pammal arranged for an Eye camp for detection of lazy eye and other eye related problems. Oral hygiene and dental check up was also conducted. Around 280 children of MOP Vaishnava Primary school at Venkatrangam Street benefitted from this camp- 6 students were observed requiring treatment and were prescribed glasses.

More than 250 persons were screened and 13 persons were deducted with cataract which requires surgery and they had been taken Sri Sankara Eye Hospital, Pummal and the surgery was conducted successfully on next day. SYMA (Srinivas Youngmen’s Association) in association with Chennai Corporation – Public Health Department and Councillor of Ward 116 Mr. B Srinivasan @ MGR Vasan, organized a ‘Dengue Fever Awareness Rally’. The rally wound through the streets of Triplicane, creating awareness about the disease, its symptoms and what needs to be done by the public to keep their area free of dengue.

SYMA (Srinivas Youngmen’s Association) in association with Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Medical Trust, Sri Seervi Samaj and SRM Institute of Medical science conducted a “Diabetic and Cardiac Detection Camp” at Sri Seervi Samaj, Dr. Besant Road, Triplicane, Chennai 600 005 exclusively for the members of SYMA. Around 165 patients were screened for blood sugar levels, blood pressure and ECG. Echo and ultrasound sonography was alos done for the patients for whom the consulting doctors felt the need. We thank the medical experts Dr. Jayanthi and Dr. Sundararaman who took care and guidance to the patients. We also thank Dr K. Sridhar who was the guiding force of this camp.

we associated with Rotary Club of Madras South organized a health camp at Rajakilapakkam, near Tambaram exclusively for the students of Mahaswami Vidya Mandir. We are thankful to the team of doctors headed by Dr. Nagaiah Chetty and Dr. Dhanush who checked up the students for respiratory, allergic and infections. We also thank Doctor and medical staff of Sankara Eye Hospital who offered eye check up to the students. Around 250 students were screened and about 18 students were provided free spectacles.

Eye Check Up and General Health Camp was organised in association with Rotary Club of Madras South and Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Medical Trust at Medavakkam. The venue was Sree Gayathri Vidyalaya, Nesamani Nagar, Perumbakkam, Medavakkam, Chennai 601 302. More than 60 children from the crèches run by Mrs Jaya Ramakrishnan underwent routine health check ups and more than 50 elderly persons underwent eye check up. 3 persons who were diagnosed with cataract were taken to Sankara Eye Hospital, Pammal and were surgically treated. Spectacles were provided to 10 persons.

ENT, Dental and Eye Camp was conducted along with Nandalala Trust and Lions Club of South Madras at NKT National Boys High School. Around 110 students were screened for ENT, Dental and Eye care. 6 of them were prescribed spectacles which were provided to them in the camp. Comprehensive Health Check Up Camp was conducted in co-ordination with Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Medical Trust on behalf of “Smt Radha Sri Venkatnarayanan Memorial Trust” at Bharathiyar Illam. Around 161 persons were screened for blood sugar, blood pressure and provided dental and general consultation by Doctors. Medicines were given free to all. Thanks to the Team of Doctors consisting of – Dr. Parthasarathy, Dr. Saroja, Dr. Mangala, Dr. Seetharaman, Dr. DK Badrinarayanan, Dr. Vidhya.

Health Check Up Camp was organized at Bharathiar Illam in coordination with VS Hospital. Dr Subramaniam, a leading Oncologist spoke on the symptoms, research and treatment besides offering tips for leading a healthy disease free life. Around 75 persons underwent screening by Gynecologist; around 100 were screened and were provided free consultation by Ortho and Dental specialists.

Health Check Up Camp for elderly people was organized with the joint participation of Lions Club of South Madras and Novartis. In the camp at Bharathiyar Illam, more than 100 persons were screened and underwent tests for checking blood pressure, blood sugar, Eye checkup and ECG. Some were prescribed glasses, which were available at a very nominal cost. Apart from these, the aged persons were also screened for Dementia.

Kidney Disease Screening Camp was conducted at Bharathiyar Illam to avoid early detection of Chronic Kidney disease (CKD) sponsored by Wockhardt. Dr S Jayalakshmi & Dr Indhumathi conducted the camp. Over 100 persons were screened and follow up action recommended. Dr.S. Jayalakshmi, MD DM (Nephro) presented a power point presentation and explained about the kidney disorders and the need for identification at early stage followed by an interactive Q & A session.

SYMA Medical Centre (affiliated to Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Medical Trust) was renovated with the help of Mr. Prasad (Vasavi Builders), Mr. Narasimhan (Simha Builders) and Govindarajan (Painting Contractor). A nurse was appointed on a part-time basis to assist the doctors and to impart injection on the patients. The centre serves around 50 patients everyday.
